The surface of the tape is covered with carefully selected anti slip particles, such as hard and wear-resistant diamond sand (black corundum) or textured surfaces made through special processes. These rough particle surfaces greatly increase the friction between the sole and the ground, effectively preventing slipping and providing safety for walking.
The tape contains a light storage material (usually rare earth activated aluminate) that can absorb light energy and store it when there is light. In a dark environment without a light source, the material will automatically release stored energy and emit yellow green or blue-green light for a duration of 4 to 10 hours. This self luminous (also known as self luminous, light storage) characteristic allows it to provide critical visual guidance even in corridors or emergency passages with sudden power outages.
The reflective material (or fluorescent coating) embedded on the surface of the tape can reflect the light back to the light source in low light or at night when illuminated by vehicle lights, flashlights, and other light sources, producing a high brightness "fluorescent green" effect.
