How is Pavement Marking Tape applied?

The typical construction steps are as follows (7 steps in total):
1.Road surface cleaning: Clean the road surface that needs to be labeled with tape, and remove any floating objects with a wire brush.
2.Draw outline: Draw the outline of the marking pattern on the road where the marking tape needs to be pasted.
3.Ground glue application: Open the adhesive cover, thoroughly mix well, and use a solvent resistant fuzzy roller or brush to evenly apply the adhesive within the contour line of the ground, and it must be applied 23 centimeters beyond the contour line. The amount of glue applied is approximately 0.31kg per square meter based on the smoothness of the road surface.
4.Drying and waiting: After applying the glue, let it sit for a period of time and touch the glue layer with your fingers. When there is no glue on your fingers, you can stick it. Normally, it takes 3-10 minutes (depending on the weather and the thickness of the glue brush).
5.Paste label tape: Paste along the drawn contour line, first peel off the isolation paper on the back, and then start from scratch while peeling and pasting.
6.Compaction and pressure: After pasting, use a heavy object to compact, or use a 100kg rubber roller to compact, or allow a motor vehicle to slowly pass through. Use a rubber hammer to compact gaps or edges. Usually, it needs to be rolled at least 6 times.
7.Opening to traffic: Normal traffic can only be opened after bonding according to the above method. But at this time, the adhesive has not yet reached the optimal bonding strength. Generally, try to avoid forcibly tearing and peeling within 48 hours, and avoid watering with a water truck within 48 hours.
