What is waterproof aluminum foil tape?
Waterproof aluminum foil tape is not a single product. The tape with this name on the market is actually divided into two technical routes, with significant differences in performance boundaries and applicable scenarios.
Analysis of Waterproof Principle
Aluminum foil itself is impermeable, but whether the tape is "waterproof" depends crucially on the adhesive layer. • Structure: Aluminum plastic composite foil+thick butyl rubber, with a common total thickness of 1.0-1.7mm.
• Features: Self adhesive, strong sealing ability, temperature resistance of about -34 ℃~85 ℃, water absorption rate ≤ 0.30%, outdoor weather resistance can reach more than 20 years.
• Applicable: Color steel tile roof joints, metal roof repair, gutters, concrete cracks, door and window frames, pipeline anti-corrosion. Waterproof sealing scenarios that require filling gaps or withstanding certain displacement.
Choose pressure-sensitive adhesive type: thin sealing, thermal conductivity EMI
