How to install Pool Rubber Grip Tape?
Pool Rubber Grip Tape is a high-performance anti slip material that firmly adheres colored EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer) particles to a tape substrate. This tape has a comfortable foot feel, is skin friendly and does not prick the feet. It is non slip and can cushion, environmentally friendly and non-toxic, extremely durable, and suitable for outdoor use. Therefore, it is very suitable for use in damp, barefoot areas such as poolside, bathroom, kitchen, etc. It is also commonly found in public areas such as school stairs and hospital corridors that require anti slip and noise reduction.
In order to achieve better performance of this tape, correct installation is crucial. The construction standard process is summarized as follows:
1.Thoroughly clean the surface (crucial!)
This is the most important step in ensuring a firm adhesion. The construction surface must be thoroughly cleaned, completely dry, and free of oil and wax.
• Use a cloth with neutral cleaning agent to vigorously wipe away dirt, algae, or old adhesive residue on the surface.
• For oil stains, it is necessary to thoroughly clean them with degreasers or isopropanol.
• After rinsing with clean water, make sure the surface is completely dry and free of any moisture.
2. Measurement and cutting
• Measure the length to be pasted with a tape measure and cut it with a utility knife or scissors.
• Key technique: Trim rounded corners. Be sure to cut the four corners of the tape into rounded corners instead of right angles. This is a crucial step in preventing the corners from warping or falling off due to trampling in the future.

3. Tear off the backing paper and stick it on
• Tear off the release paper (backing paper) on the back of the tape. Be careful not to touch the exposed adhesive surface with your fingers as much as possible to avoid affecting the adhesion.
• It is recommended to first tear off the 3-4 inch (approximately 7-10 cm) backing paper on one end, position and paste it, and then peel off the remaining backing paper while flattening the tape.
4. Apply force to compact and expel bubbles
This is the key to ensuring that the tape is fully adhered to the surface.
• After pasting, use a rubber roller, rubber hammer, or hard plastic scraper to roll or tap vigorously from the center of the tape to all sides.
• This action can effectively expel the air under the tape, making it tightly adhere and avoiding the formation of bubbles.
5. Closing and maintenance
• Optional) Edge sealing: If the humidity at the edge of the swimming pool is high or there is a large flow of people, a special edge sealing adhesive (such as acrylic resin type) can be applied to the edge of the tape to effectively prevent moisture and dirt from infiltrating and prevent edge curling.
• Static curing: After construction is completed, it is recommended to wait for at least 24 hours for the tape to fully cure. During this period, avoid contact with moisture or heavy pressure on the tape.
Installation precautions
• Construction temperature: It is recommended to carry out construction in an environment above 10 ℃, as low temperatures can affect the adhesion of the backing adhesive.
• Surface requirements: Adhesive tape is most suitable for sticking on smooth and flat surfaces (such as tiles, metal, hard plastic). If the surface is rough or has cracks, it may be necessary to apply a specialized primer first.
• Installation timing: It is necessary to install in a completely dry state in the swimming pool or on the ground.
