TPE expansion joint tape is a high elasticity waterproof sealing material composed of thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) and polyester fiber non-woven fabric composite. It is designed to provide flexible sealing and waterproof protection for expansion joints and cracks that require significant displacement in bridge, tunnel, road and other engineering projects.
Material composition and core characteristics
• Material Composite: The substrate is thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), which combines the processing properties of thermoplastic and the elasticity of synthetic rubber. Polyester fiber non-woven fabric is usually composite on both sides to enhance strength and facilitate bonding with the base surface.
• Core elasticity: It has extremely high elasticity and deformation ability, and can follow the opening and closing displacement of expansion joints due to temperature changes, earthquakes, or vibrations, maintaining permanent flexibility and not becoming brittle due to low temperatures. (If able to withstand a displacement of 5mm to 10mm)
• Durability and weather resistance: the material has excellent aging resistance, ultraviolet (UV) resistance and chemical corrosion resistance, can resist the corrosion of alkali, asphalt, dilute alkaline solution and salt solution, and is suitable for exposed harsh environment.
